Why 54?

Good question.  Why 54 reasons, why not a nice simple number like 25 or 10 or even just 50? The answer is math. Over the years I've accumulated an additional 54 pounds and I just happen to be 54 years old as well.  You may be able to add in 54 attempts to lose the excess (though I never really kept track, but that number seems about right.) Or you could take away 54 thousand different times I've thought or expressed something negative about myself and my body.  Yes, I'd like to take that away in particular.

So, I'm resolved.  determined, hell-bent and committed to... and I'm blogging about it.

"So original!" the masses in the blog-o-sphere cheer.

"No one has ever blogged about weight loss."

"I've always wanted to see someones half-naked before and after shots, daily pictures of the food they eat or the food they determinedly refuse."

Yes, this is a public blog, but this is really for me.  I need reminders why I am doing this AGAIN, so I've decided to give myself daily affirmations by writing a reason each day why I am trying to lose weight.  Yes, there may be a picture or two of me posing proudly showing off the 2 lbs I've lost this week (or month) but I promise, there will be a sufficient amount of clothing.  I don't walk around half naked anyway, so to me that is a poor measure of progress. No matter how much weight I loose, I'm still a 54 year old woman with gravity at the helm and no one wants to see more of that then they have to.

Just so you know, I am following a program, I do have a health coach and my husband is very supportive if not involved in his own journey to better health.  In fact that is a nice segue into
Reason #1.
